Our Story
Hello, we are Clint and Kalla. Thanks for stopping by!
Our story began in 2013 with a single swipe and a message that led to a first date that felt like coming home: easy, familiar, and full of laughter. From that night on we were nearly inseparable, discovering shared passions in both big adventures and the quiet, ordinary moments that make life sweet.
In 2014 we said “I do” quietly at the courthouse, then spent the next year saving and planning…not because we needed a grand affair, but because we wanted to celebrate with the people who had cheered us on from the start. In 2015 we had the wedding we’d imagined: surrounded by friends and family, music that got everyone dancing, and little details woven throughout that felt unmistakably like us.
In 2020 we bought our first home, we spent the first month’s painting walls making space for cozy Sunday mornings and noisy holiday dinners. Building a home has become our favorite project: planting a garden together, carving out a bright office for remote work, and filling the shelves with photos and mementos from our travels. It’s a place where we dream about the future and are slowly shaping a life that can hold more love with hopes to expand our family one day and share this home with little footsteps, loud laughter, and the everyday chaos that makes a house a home.
Family Life
Family life is the everyday experience of living, caring for, and growing with the people you call family. Shared routines, traditions, and moments that shape us.
We practice our faith daily through prayer and devotion, and we’ll teach our child to pray and explore faith while giving them space to develop their own beliefs.
Our extended family is close, every holiday we gather at a different family member’s house where we cook together, play games, and take a trip so memories are made across generations. We keep that connection alive through a lively family group chat full of photos, videos, milestone moments, and daily scripture.
At home our ten‑year‑old corgi, Bailey, is the heart of many rituals: summer bubble afternoons in the park, cozy firepit nights with graham crackers, and fall trips to the pumpkin patch. These simple, joyful routines shape our days and create a steady, loving world we can’t wait to share.
As a couple, every other Sunday we visit the bookstore for coffee and quiet company, one of us usually flips through a cooking or home‑decor magazine while the other reads an anime book, small moments that keep us grounded and connected.
Lifestyle
Our home is a warm, lived-in hub of laughter, adventure, and tiny habits that bring us joy. We live in a cozy three-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home on a friendly, diverse cul-de-sac with a fenced backyard where our 10-year-old corgi rules the roost.
Weeknights might mean movie nights with popcorn or experimenting with new recipes we discovered at a local food festival. Weekends are for hikes with the dog, impromptu road trips to nearby lakes and small towns, and exploring seasonal community events like farmers’ markets, street fairs, and outdoor concerts where we love meeting neighbors and soaking up local culture.
We love hands-on hobbies that bring us closer: we dabble in DIY projects together, building shelves and fixing up little corners of the house. We also enjoy photography, capturing everyday moments from our corgi’s (Bailey) crooked grin to sunlit backyard play, and turning those snapshots into wall prints that tell our family’s story.
Our neighborhood is welcoming and diverse, full of families, parks, and kid-friendly activities, so a child would grow up with a supportive community and plenty of chances to make friends.
Adoption
We would love to have open communication with you in ways that feel reassuring, respectful and sustainable for everyone. We welcome contact that feels warm and steady, letters, photos, and emails are lovely ways to stay connected. If distance ever becomes a factor, we would be committed to helping arrange visits once or twice a year, if you’re interested, so that relationship can continue to grow. Above all, we’ll prioritize kindness and the child’s wellbeing and honor your voice in their story.
Diversity matters to our family because it teaches empathy, broadens our view of the world, and reminds us that strength comes from different experiences and perspectives. We want our home to be a place where differences are celebrated, not just tolerated, so every person feels seen and respected.
We have already woven diversity into our daily life by celebrating holidays from different cultures, cooking meals that reflect other traditions, reading books and watching films that feature a range of voices, and welcoming friends and neighbors from varied backgrounds.
If we are blessed with a child from a different ethnic background, our first step will be to love, listen and learn from you first. We would love to learn about your meaningful traditions, foods, language, and holidays, and intentionally make room for those practices in our routines. We’ll seek out community groups, cultural events, and children’s books in your language and ensure their identity is honored in celebrations, mealtimes, school activities, and family conversations so they always know their heritage is respected and valued and with us they always have a place they belong.
Best Wishes
After trying to grow our family on our own, we learned that pregnancy would not be possible for us without trying fertility treatments. We went through multiple rounds of IVF, which was both emotionally and physically challenging. While that chapter didn’t unfold the way we had hoped, it strengthened our desire to become parents and led us to adoption. A path we feel deeply grateful and excited to pursue.
Our promise to your child will be, we will tuck them in with kindness, cheer for them without condition, and make sure they always feel proud of their roots. We promise to raise a kind, curious, and confident child who knows the power of empathy and the beauty of difference. We will teach them to ask questions, to stand up for others, and to celebrate both their personal story and the many stories that surround them.
Thank you for considering our family, we will protect their laughter, nurture their curiosity, and always point them back to the love that started their journey.
