Our Story
Dear Expectant Mother,
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about us. We are Candace and Robert, and we are incredibly grateful that you are considering getting to know our family. We have known each other since middle school, have been in a relationship for over 20 years and have been married for 14 years.
We have always dreamed of becoming parents and building a home filled with unconditional love, laughter, support, and cherished traditions. While our journey to parenthood has not followed the path we originally imagined, it has strengthened our appreciation for the incredible gift of family and the courage it takes to consider adoption.
Our relationship is built on love, trust, and teamwork. If we are blessed with the opportunity to become parents through adoption, we promise to provide a child with a lifetime of love, stability, encouragement, and opportunities to grow into the person they are meant to be. We will celebrate their unique personality, support their dreams, and always honor the incredible love and selflessness that brought them into our family.
We know this is one of the most difficult and deeply personal decisions anyone can make. Whatever path you choose, we hope you feel surrounded by compassion and support. Thank you for considering us and allowing us to share a small part of who we are.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Candace & Robert
Family Life
Our values include unconditional love, kindness, respect, family togetherness, education, curiosity, hard work, gratitude and generosity.
Some of our traditions include reading bedtime stories, celebrating holidays with extended family, family walks, decorating the house together for all large and small holidays, cooking together, family vacations, making homemade apple cider, managing a traditional Italian Christmas Eve dinner and many more seasonal activities.
We were both raised Roman Catholic and made our Sacraments. We would raise our child Catholic unless you are not comfortable with that and request us not to. We consider ourselves to be more spiritual rather than very religious. However, our religious upbringing has played a crucial part in who we are as people and our faith overall.
When it comes to our home, we have four playful cats named Mello, Percy, Domino, and Pepper who all love a new addition to the family to spend time with.
Lifestyle
We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, traveling, lounging together, cheering on our several nieces and nephews at their events, and making the most of everyday moments. One of our favorite ways to relax is watching movies, especially mystery and superhero films. We love trying to solve the mystery before the characters do and enjoy stories that keep us guessing until the very end.
We believe that a happy home is one where everyone feels safe, valued, encouraged, and deeply loved. We feel incredibly grateful to call a spacious five-bedroom ranch home. Located in a quiet suburban neighborhood, it’s a place where families know their neighbors, children play outside, and life moves at a comfortable pace. Our home has plenty of space to grow. One of our favorite features of the neighborhood is the beautiful lake just a short walk away. We enjoy taking peaceful walks along the water, fishing, watching the ducks, and spending time outdoors throughout the year. The neighborhood also has a playground where children can laugh, explore, and make new friends.
Adoption
We would love to have an open adoption and are happy to communicate with you via email, send monthly updates, pictures, and participate in the annual adoption picnic.
Diversity is something we value because it teaches empathy, respect, and an appreciation for the many different cultures and backgrounds that make our world so special. We want our home to be a place where differences are celebrated and every person feels loved, accepted, and proud of who they are. We strive to embrace diversity in our everyday lives by building relationships with people from different backgrounds when able, exploring a variety of cultures through food, music, travel, and community events, and having open conversations that encourage curiosity, kindness, and understanding.
As a Social Worker cultural diversity is something Candace embraces on an everyday basis when working with clients. If we are blessed to adopt a child whose ethnic or cultural background is different from our own, we are committed to honoring and celebrating every part of their identity. We will intentionally learn about and incorporate your child’s culture into our family’s traditions, seek out books, toys, artwork, and media that reflect their heritage along with any other suggestion made to us.
Best Wishes
If you choose us, we promise that your child will always know how deeply they were loved from the very beginning. We will speak of you with kindness, honesty, and gratitude, ensuring they understand that their story began with an act of extraordinary love.
